Community Outreach Project: Benoni Bunny Park Round 2

What a great honour and privilege it was for the Gauteng Tzu Chi youth to host a second Benoni Bunny Park outing; it was a day where the Tzu Chi volunteers gave their time to take 40 orphaned children of Tembisa to the Bunny Park Centre, giving them an opportunity to interact, have fun and enjoy the day at hand.

On the 12th November 2014, the local Tzu Chi youth volunteers accompanied 40 orphaned children, from the various soup kitchens established in 4 different areas of Tembisa, to the Benoni Bunny Park. The day was well organized and planned; upon arrival on the site, the volunteers divided themselves and the children into four groups for supervision and accompaniment during the outing.

Whilst walking through the park, the different groups got the chance to learn about the different animals present whilst having lots of fun in the process.
The volunteer groups also had to come up with different games and activities for the children to enjoy.

Most of the children were happy because for them, it was their first time being up close to cute and interesting animals like bunnies, peacocks and guinea pigs.
The Bunny Park is a great environment for children to visit; their bright smiles showed us how happy they were and felt the warm love and care of Tzu Chi. The bunnies were just the cutest little creatures and the children very much enjoyed feeding them.

From our side as Tzu Chi volunteers, we really enjoyed ourselves and we are grateful for the opportunity to take the children out and show them love and care.
