Feeding the mind. Feeding the Soul

Daily nutrition is something that most of us take for granted, but for the young orphans of Tembisa, having a meal a day can be something hard to come by. As a child's nutrition and education go hand in hand, Tzu Chi's local volunteers and youth members combined their efforts in helping to feed the children's mind, body and soul.

Mandela Day in Cape Town

"A fundamental concern for others in our individual and community lives would go a long way in making the world the better place we so passionately dreamt of" - Nelson Mandela
In the true spirit of giving, and in celebration of our beloved Tata Madiba, many South Africans did something charitable for at least 67 minutes on 19 July.

2014 Gauteng English Youth Winter Camp

Thanks to a great team of Tzu Chi volunteers, once again we are happy to put Master Cheng Yen's teachings into practice by hosting the 2014 Local Tzu Ching Camp; a great event that brings us together with love, respect, care, and most of all, what it really means to be a Tzu Ching volunteer.

At the Southern Hemisphere, this time of the year marks the start of Winter. Tzu Chi Volunteers held a winter relief distribution at the capital city of Pretoria. After 5 days of preparation, the volunteers visited the informal settlement of Mooiplaas and identified 3000 households who do not have basic supplies such as water and electricity, not to mention their empty dinner tables.
