Tembisa Tzu Ching Present A Musical Performance

Chinese New Year’s Celebration, often marks the start of a busy event schedule for Tzu Chi Volunteers. This year, during the ceremony, a unique bunch of SA Local Tzu Ching (Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth) perform the unique culture of Tzu Chi – a sign language musical.

“Change of Mindset” is a song describing the natural co-existence between humans, the environment and the animals that inhabit the earth. Although all the lyrics are in Chinese, these local Tzu Chings' portrayal of the animals and being slaughtered by hunters have gone beyond the language barriers. An estimated 300 within the audience, both Chinese and Local, were all deeply moved by the meaningful message conveyed within the performance.

Master Cheng Yen encourages members of the public to adopt vegetarianism as a way to pray for peace. Throughout the years, Tzu Chi has continued to promote the concept of vegetarianism in hopes that we may all cherish life and respect all living beings.

This is the first time Tembisa Tzu Ching performed on the stage; judging from the audience’s response, this won’t be the last time.
