Once a month, her grandson visits her to provide some grocery money but, unfortunately, does not assist her in certain household tasks such as washing and cleaning. 6 local Tzu Chi volunteers went in to help; they divided themselves into teams in performing various tasks around the house such as cleaning the kitchen, fetching water and doing the laundry.
The granny was elated in seeing the local volunteers come in to assist her and felt comfortable enough to share stories with them. The local volunteers, in turn, shared their experiences regarding performing Tzu Chi community services in Blue Bank as well as current affairs and local news seeing as the granny has not been exposed to the outside world in quite some time.
The local volunteers brought food, vegetables and other necessities for the granny and assisted her in organising her clothes so that it is easy for her to find something to wear, especially on days when she visits the clinic.
Seeing that she stays alone and that her eyesight is deteriorating, the local volunteers have decided to visit her once a week to provide her with cooking ingredients and to help her in performing household chores.
